Exhibition: A walk through the nanoworld

From to

This exhibition, which can be visited at the Bizkaia Aretoa of the UPV/EHU from 13 to 25 September 2022, is organized by the Chair of Scientific Culture of the UPV/EHU and CIC nanoGUNE research center. It brings together authors, works and tools of nanoscience and nanotechnology. The public will be able to contemplate images of different nano-objects captured by amazing instruments that have become the "eyes of the nanoworld", they will be able to see some of the tools used in this field, and real products and objects of day-to-day research.

Guided tours

Accompanying the exhibition, nanoGUNE researcher Ibon Santiago will offer two guided tours on September 22 and 23 at 18:00. The visit on September 22nd will be in Basque and the visit on September 23rd in Spanish.

If you are interested in attending the guided tours, please send an e-mail to kzk.ehu@gmail.com indicating the day of interest, your name and surname and your contact telephone number.

Ibon Santiago

He studied physics at the UPV-EHU. He obtained a master's degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a PhD in Physics from the University of Oxford, where he has worked in the field of DNA biophysics and nanotechnology. He has been a postdoctoral researcher at the Cavendish Laboratory in Cambridge and a Humboldt Fellow at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). He is currently a researcher at CIC nanoGUNE, where he is developing a project to create molecular robots with the help of programmable materials such as DNA in the framework of the Gipuzkoa Fellow program of the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa.
