Celebration of the first day of Pride in Science #prideinstem in Donostia

The Materials Physics Center (CFM) - mixed center of the University of the Basque Country (UPV / EHU) and the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) -, the Donostia International Physics Center (DIPC), and nanoGUNE organize the first day of the Pride in Science in Donostia-San Sebastián with two lectures of scientific popularization with LGTBIQ perspective and a round table / forum for the debate open to all audiences.

On Friday, July 5 at 7:00 p.m. in the Crypt of Convent Garden, the organizers want to join the international movement #PrideinStem - pride in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) - which for a few years seeks to give visibility to the LGTBQI collective in science and spread the message that diversity in science is also fundamental.

Aitzol García Etxarri, researcher of the "fellows gipuzkoa" program promoted by the Gipuzkoa Provintial Council and promoter of the event, will offer an introductory talk to contextualize the day. Isabel López Calderón, Professor of Genetics at the University of Seville, will then deliver the talk “Azul, Rosa u otra cosa” that explores the biology of human sexual determination.
