Companies in Donostia-San Sebastian will be able to test proofs of concept with CIC nanoGUNE thanks to Fomento San Sebastian technology vouchers
A collaboration agreement between Fomento San Sebastian and CIC nanoGUNE is enabling grants or technology vouchers to be made available to companies so that they can use nanoGUNE’s advanced services. These grants are for funding the testing of proofs of concept of innovative ideas that offer the potential to contribute significant added value towards the products and processes of the companies in our milieu.
These technology vouchers constitute a funding tool to ensure that the advanced knowledge held by the centers will have an immediate impact on the transformation of Donostia-San Sebastian-based companies and that it will generate the development of new business opportunities by increasing the companies’ competitive capacity.
The External Services Department of nanoGUNE has been set up as a scientific infrastructure open to technical and research teams from various fields of business, ranging from SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) to large companies within a broad range of industrial sectors. Its three main lines of services are nano/micro manufacturing, physicochemical characterization and structural and morphological characterization.
This funding program has resulted in, for example, joint work of the San Sebastian-Donostia-based centers CIC nanoGUNE and the AEG Professional Innovation Institute in producing textile garments using sustainable materials, or the collaboration of the San Sebastian-Donostia-based centers CIC nanoGUNE and KUSUDAMA Therapeutics SL in the study to measure the actual loading of drugs onto individual nanoparticles for the treatment of various lung conditions.
