nanoGUNE receives representatives from the Governments of Catalonia
Today, nanoGUNE welcomed a delegation from the Generalitat de Catalunya, led by Núria Montserrat, Minister for Research and Universities of Catalonia, and accompanied by representatives from the Basque Government.
The visit was hosted by nanoGUNE Director Jose M. Pitarke, who introduced the center's mission, research activities, and strategic priorities before guiding the delegation through several of nanoGUNE's laboratories and scientific facilities.
The visit provided an opportunity to showcase some of nanoGUNE’s current research and scientific infrastructure. During the laboratory tour, researchers from different groups presented ongoing work in advanced microscopy, quantum-probe microscopy, nanobiosystems, cleanroom-based nanofabrication, and quantum hardware.
The delegation visited the TEM and CRYO-FIB facilities with Andrey Chuvilin, the STM laboratory with Jose Ignacio Pascual, the Nanobiosystems and cleanroom facilities with Mariana Medina, and the Quantum Hardware laboratory with Fernando González-Zalba.
Visits such as this help strengthen dialogue between scientific institutions and public administrations, highlighting the role of advanced research infrastructures in driving knowledge generation, talent development, and technological innovation.
