NanoGUNE is characterized for being an open, tolerant, cosmopolitan, and multicultural center. In particular, the following code of conduct should be followed:

  • COURTESY 

Courtesy is important in a work atmosphere. Attitudes like good humour, knowing how to smile, and the use of a pleasant tone of voice will provide good performance of our collaborators and all the people who interact at nanoGUNE. The use of polite expressions, such as saying thank you, asking please, apologizing at certain moments, and greeting when entering and exiting all aid to live in harmony. 

An atmosphere of quietness and concentration will be encouraged, which is why raising one’s voice or running through the halls should not be done. 

  • DRESS 

NanoGUNE stands out for its flexibility on dress. No norms exist on the formality of dress as such; what does exist is a tolerance to this respect. 

  • ORDER AND CLEANLINESS 

With respect to order and cleanliness, nanoGUNE is governed by basic norms that take into account offices and public areas. 

There are glasses, plates, cups, and cutlery in the interaction area, which can be used by everybody. After their use, everything must be cleaned and put back in its place. Whenever the microwave is used, the plate cover must be used so as to avoid dirtying the interior. 

It is advisable to use the interaction area or the kitchen to drink or eat something and avoid, whenever possible, to do it in working areas. 

  • OFFICES

At the end of the day everything should be put away and tidy and both the light and climate controls should be switched off.
