CIC nanoGUNE is the public name of "Asociación Centro de Investigación Cooperativa en Nanociencia - CIC nanoGUNE", a private non-profit making association constituted on February 28, 2006.

NanoGUNE's headquarters are located at the Campus of Ibaeta of the University of the Basque Country in San Sebastian. The nanoGUNE building was inaugurated in January 2009. It is a building of 6 200m2 that includes 15 ultra-sensitive laboratories in the basement and a cleanroom of about 300 m2 for nanofabrication.

It is our mission to carry out world-class nanosciencie research for the competitive growth of the Basque Country. 

Vision

NanoGUNE is envisioned as a multidisciplinary excellent research center that is internationally renowned for its state-of-the-art research and its contribution to the global competitiveness of the Basque Country. Crucial to realizing this vision is (i) nanoGUNE's synergy with other Basque research and technological centers and (ii) the facilitiation of a Basque industry that increasingly takes advantage of the development of nanoscience and nanotechnology.
